Tucker is a fast-growing city and home to a vibrant Main Street, where many popular festivals and events take place during the year. Over the last several years, the downtown area has gone through major redevelopment with a variety of independent retail shops and hip restaurants popping up to create a popular downtown district.
Main Street Tucker
Main Street Tucker hosts a variety of events and festivals including Tucker Chili CookOff (March), Tucker Day(May), Movies on Main (June), independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Spectacular (July), National Night Out (August), Taste of Tucker (October), Trunk or Treat (October) and Christmas on Main (December).
The Tucker Farmers Market offers fresh, local produce and entertainment with a variety of vendors and performers. (Thursdays from April-December at 4-8 p.m.; Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 4882 Lavista Road, Tucker, GA 30084)
The Tucker Cruise-In is an old-fashioned town meet and greet car show on Main Street. They have a wide variety of cars, ranging from antiques to street rods, motorcycles to imports. The CruiseIns are held on the 2nd Saturday of every month (April-September). The fun begins at 5:00 p.m. and ends with the presentation of awards around 8:00 p.m.
Main Street Theatre is a group of dedicated and passionate volunteers who came together in 2014 to found Main Street Theatre, Inc. Their mission is to produce superior theatrical experiences that entertain and connect the community of Tucker with the arts and with each other. Main Street Theatre productions are held at the Tucker Recreation Center.
From the big screen to the little screen, it is no secret that film is happening in Tucker, Georgia. Known as the “Hollywood of the South,” the Georgia Department of Economic Development states that more than 700 feature films, television series, single episodes and pilots have been produced in Georgia since 1972.
